Why are we throwing away so much of what we need to survive? Filmmakers Jen Rustemeyer and Grant Baldwin take us on a personal journey of discovery about the issue of unnecessary food waste. After seeing first-hand just how extreme the problem is, the couple vow to live off discarded food alone. The resulting diet may surprise you; everything from industrial quantities of hummus to gourmet delights are needlessly tossed away every day. The facts presented are compelling, but perhaps more so are Rustemeyer and Baldwin. The pair is affable and committed, making the challenge into a labour of love.  Expect to leave the theatre with a new attitude towards food and two new friends.
