A brilliant young inventor runs away from home on a charming, fantastical adventure.

T.S. Spivet feels like an outsider among outsiders. A 10 year-old boy with a mathematical mind and a wild imagination, T.S. (Kyle Catlett) struggles to relate to his more outgoing siblings (Niamh Wilson and Jakob Davies) and eccentric parents. While his cowboy father and scientist mother (Helena Bonham Carter, The King's Speech) raise the three children on their Montana ranch, T.S. hides himself away inside, drawing maps and inventing machines. When T.S. achieves one of science’s greatest ambitions and creates a perpetual motion machine, he is honoured with an award from the Smithsonian Institute. T.S. runs away from home, deciding that he must attend the awards reception in Washington, D.C. As he travels across the country by freight train, T.S. must learn who he can and can't trust, while coming to terms with some of his family's dark secrets. Shot in Alberta, this visually dazzling coming-of-age story is based on the acclaimed book and brought to life by visionary director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie, Delicatessen). The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet is a feast for both the eyes and the heart. CESAR AWARD, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
