Calgary's Biggest Oscar Party
Posted on February 26, 2018
This Sunday, the Calgary International Film Festival will throw Calgary's only official Oscar Party at the historic Palace Theatre.
Hundreds of fans from across the city will gather at the third annual event to cheer on their favourite films, network with the Alberta industry, walk the red carpet and watch a live broadcast of the Academy Awards.
Seven of this year's Oscar nominations had their Calgary debut at the 2017 film festival including CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, LADY BIRD, A FANTASTIC WOMAN, LOVELESS, THE SQUARE, THE FLORIDA PROJECT and the short DEKALB ELEMENTARY.
CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, which was nominated for four awards including Best Picture, was the winner of the Calgary International Film Festival’s inaugural Fan Award – voted on by fans that saw 10+ films at the festival. Tickets to A Red Carpet Affair Oscar Party & Fundraiser cost $85 and include dinner, seating, entertainment, games, and an Oscar Ballot. Click here for tickets & more information.
