Ana (Paula Grimaldo) has just arrived from Colombia and is the maid in a luxurious mansion in Spain, where a wealthy family of art dealers spend their summer holidays. She works tirelessly and without a contract, under the promise of better conditions after the summer, as long as she remains discreet and quiet. But through Gisela, the employee of the neighboring house, Ana will discover that things do not work exactly as she has been told, and she will also learn to have a little more fun during her summer in the Costa Brava.
Presented by Steven Soderbergh, THE QUIET MAID is the first European film fully funded through the sale of NFTs (non-fungible tokens). Written and directed by Miguel Faus, this directorial debut is a noteworthy entry to the class inequality sub-genre, akin to TRIANGLE OF SADNESS and THE MENU. With a fresh and satirical perspective on the struggles of domestic workers combined with a visually engaging setting and the music of indigenous Colombian/Canadian songstress Lido Pimienta, it is sure to resonate with audiences.
