A chance encounter leads Mara (Deragh Campbell, ANNE AT 13,000 FT. CIFF 2019), a young creative writing professor, to reunite with Matt (Matt Johnson, ANNE AT 13, 000 FT, CIFF 2019 OPERATION AVALANCHE CIFF 2016), a charismatic, free-spirited author from her past who wanders onto her university campus. Bonded by their shared interests, the two begin to grow closer as she contends with her strained marriage to an experimental musician. When her husband suddenly cancels plans to drive Mara to a conference out of town, Matt accompanies her on the road trip, where pressure slowly mounts against their undefined relationship.
Director Kazik Radwanski (ANNE AT 13,000 FT CIFF 2019, HOW HEAVY THIS HAMMER CIFF 2015) returns to the festival with a new character-driven film that examines how past connections impact relationships. The film features two naturalistic and engaging performances at its centre, marking the reunion of Deragh Campbell and Matt Johnson and their undeniable chemistry.
