Alan and Adrianne St. George’s love is all-consuming, so much so that they have accepted complete estrangement from their families and remained inseparable for 30 years. They built a castle together — a shrine to love and art with their mutual adoration reflected in every corner of their home. When Adrianne’s passes suddenly, Alan is left to face his mountainous grief.
Through re-enactments, musical performances, archival footage and behind-the-scenes conversations, director Shannon Walsh (THE GIG IS UP, CIFF 2021; ILLUSIONS OF CONTROL, CIFF 2019) and Alan St. George collaborate on a creative re-telling of this otherworldly love story. What emerges is a profound conversation about grief and the recognition of the cathartic process of remembering and sharing as crucial to coping with loss.
