When her self-absorbed daughter leaves home to attend college, Suze (Michaela Watkins, YOU HURT MY FEELINGS), a single mom who has lost her purpose, gets stuck taking care of her daughter's heartbroken ex-boyfriend. On her journey of self-discovery, Suze discovers what living purposefully really means, while making an unlikely bond along the way.
Co-writer and co-director team Linsey Stewart and Dane Clark (also partners in real life) say of their second feature: "...we wanted to explore themes of abandonment, the complexities of mother-child relationships (especially the non-biological ones), and the transformative power of unlikely friendships that help pull us out of the darkness." But, as proven by their extensive experience in TV comedy writing (MR.D, RUN THE BURBS), SUZE is not all seriousness. Indeed, it's the perfect blend of laughter and tears, often happening simultaneously.
