Maddie (Alexa Barajas, YELLOWJACKETS) has just been in a bad car accident. With the forceful direction of her high-profile politician mother, she hides out in a state-of-the-art smart home while evading the law. Aside from the occasional hired help checking in on her and troubleshooting the home operating system, Maddie is alone and isolated in the house. It’s not long before her reality begins to unravel as the home system ROMI, (voiced by Jocelyn Chugg) takes control. Soon Maddie discovers she is not the only one with secrets.

Calgary-based Director Robert Cuffley first explored the horrors of AI in his 2019 short of the same name; he’s now expanded the terror to a feature-length film. Robert Cuffley is no stranger to CIFF and has screened several feature films such as BRIGHT HILL ROAD, CHOKESLAM, and WALK ALL OVER ME, to name a few.
