Bill (another quietly brilliant performance by David Strathairn) has lived for decades with his wife, Venida (Celia Weston) in suburban Winston-Salem, NC, running the family sheet metal business with their son, David (Will Pullen).
David and his quiet, loving wife, Tammy (Jane Levy, in a career-best performance), live in a guest house on his parents’ property, where Tammy enjoys a unique relationship with her father-in-law. They are two kindred spirits who understand each other.
When Bill discovers that his son is having an affair with a woman at work, his peaceful life is upset in a way he could never have imagined. Does he tell Tammy, or protect his son? Does he involve himself at all, or stay out of it altogether?
From Angus MacLachlan (director of 2005's breakout indie smash and Amy Adams' feature film debut, JUNEBUG), A LITTLE PRAYER is one of the most unforgettable and moving films of the year.
