14-year-old aspiring musician Shabu lives in the notorious De Peperklip neighbourhood in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Lucky for Shabu, it's the kind of neighbourhood where everyone knows and supports each other because, after what he did, he'll need a lot of support. While his grandmother was on vacation in Suriname, Shabu took her car out for a joyride and accidentally totalled it. Having angered the most important woman in his life, Shabu must abandon his plans to work on his music career this summer and instead spend his time trying to pay for the damages done.
Shabu's charisma and energy are so captivating that you'll want to watch him forever. Through his eyes, audiences will become part of his exuberant community and have a blast just hanging out with Shabu.
