SOLD OUT!
Rescheduled for December 9
Partnering with TELUS Spark, CIFF is excited to bring you access to an in-depth conversation with actress, author, philanthropist and model, Isabella Rossellini (BLUE VELVET, DEATH BECOMES HER)
With 28 Vogue magazine covers and 16 Hollywood films on her resume, it may surprise you that the uncategorizable star, Isabella Rossellini, is also a science filmmaker. Earning a master’s degree in animal behaviour and conservation in 2019, she created the series, Green Porno, about the sexual reproduction of insects and animals. With short films, one-woman shows, running an organic farm, and a return to modelling and acting, she is showing up as a new kind of model — for finding happiness through constant invention. As she told her graduating class, “If you ever encounter a dip in your life, pay no attention to the voice inside that judges you … Just follow your curiosities. You will find renewed energy, dynamism and verve.”
Part performance, part conversation, part animal behaviour lesson, this live show will explore life's major milestones, connecting the dots between Isabella Rossellini’s career and life, from being born into an intriguing film family, to her career in modelling, a life on screen, and her love of science communication and animal behaviour. Art meets passion and science in this 75-minute show, hosted by uncategorizable actor and dancer, Denise Clarke.
Isabella Rossellini is the narrator of a new digital immersion experience at TELUS Spark Science Centre called Every Second, about the math of moments that make up our lives, and runs until January 30, 2022. Her visit to Calgary is a special collaborative event with TELUS Spark.
