THE FIELD TRIP is an observational documentary short that follows a group of fifth-graders on a day-long field trip to a model town where they take on adult jobs such as CEO to Bank Teller. The goal of the field trip is to prepare students for their future by teaching them about free-market capitalism, but the model of adulthood they encounter, of being overworked, underpaid, and short on time, raises important questions about American values of work, productivity and the adult roles we all play.
