An electrifying neo-noir that dives deep into the Kuala Lumpur underworld and depicts a taxi extortion operation fuelled by two brothers.
Tailo (Sunny Pang) runs a taxi extortion ring with the aid of his younger brother Sailo (Fabian Loo) and two other friends. Tailo prefers to keep things low-key and blackmail smaller targets in order to avoid attracting attention. However, his brother Sailo has other ideas and wants to make lots of money. Sailo’s actions result in a sequence of events which draw the anger of a local triad boss. To make matters worse, the police led by inspector Kamal (Bront Palarae) are closing in on the operation.
Malaysian cinema isn’t associated with neo-noirs but Zahir Omar’s pulsating and gritty debut takes the essence of the criminal landscape covered by Hong Kong crime films and firmly plants it on Malaysian soil.
