After winning the 2012 London Paralympic gold medal and world record in shot put, Azzedine Nouri was a hero in his home country of Morocco. The fanfare was short-lived as the government denies the money, care and access to the city’s stadium that his gold medal performance promised. While he prepares to defend his title in Rio, he is motivated to overthrow a system that treats those with different abilities as second-class citizens. As he mentors and befriends a novice paralympian, their friendship makes this award-winning film a memorable and inspiring story worth cheering for.
