While his wife lies in a coma, a lawyer comes to depend on the kindness of strangers, and feels happy only when he is unhappy. Addicted to his sadness, and with such need for pity, the lawyer is willing to do everything to evoke it from others. Within the vein of other absurdist and deadpan dark comedies from Greece, PITY is funny and full of uncomfortable, cringeworthy moments, which is no surprise from director Babis Makridis (L) and his co-writer Efthymis Filippou (DOGTOOTH, THE LOBSTER and THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER).
