Nadia Murad directly experienced the atrocities committed against the Yazidi community in Iraq. A survivor of sexual violence and witness to the ruthless murder of her loved ones, she bravely became a reluctant but forceful voice of her people. Bearing witness to reporters, politicians and activists, the burden she holds is painfully evident.
Winner of the 2018 Sundance documentary directing award, Alexandria Bombach brings much needed attention to the sacrifice Murad must make and the courage she summons in order to command the attention and action needed to save her people from extinction.
