Corbett Redford recounts 30 years of punk music history in the California Bay Area, with the support of the artists that were there through it all.
In the classic DIY style known most intimately to the world of punk, director Corbett Redford recounts the storied history of punk rock in the California Bay Area with the help of some very qualified executive producers: the members of Green Day.
TURN IT AROUND: THE STORY OF EAST BAY PUNK, narrated by legendary musician Iggy Pop, is an expansive, sweeping chronicle of dozens of the most notable bands from the era, including such influential artists as Operation Ivy, Crimpshrine, Neurosis, Isocracy, NOFX, Bikini Kill, Jello Biafra, all the way to Green Day, Bad Religion, and Rancid.
The story is told through an incredible array of perspectives, featuring music from bands who developed the world of East Bay Punk in the early 1990s. A special focus is on the influence that volunteer-based music collective “924 Gilman Street” had on the emerging scene.
