We are pleased to welcome and have an in-depth conversation with playwright and filmmaker David Hare. Although best known for his stage work, Hare is a two-time Academy Award nominee (Best Adapted Screenplay) for THE HOURS, based on the novel written by Michael Cunningham, and THE READER, based on the novel of the same name written by Bernhard Schlink.

Theatre Calgary recently produced his award-winning play SKYLIGHT, in February 2017.

David Hare is in Calgary for the World Premiere of WALL, a feature-length animated film he wrote and stars in, directed by Calgary’s Cam Christiansen. WALL is a National Film Board of Canada production. David Christensen and Bonnie Thompson are the producers.
