A documentary told from the point of view of a three-year-old Syrian refugee as her family makes a months-long trek across Europe.

Civil war in Syria has led to a mass migration of refugees who are forced to make a perilous and sometimes deadly journey towards freedom. 69 MINUTES OF 86 DAYS follows the journey of one in particular: three-year-old Lean. Having successfully landed in Greece with her parents and uncles, Lean's family must make their way on foot across Europe to their relatives in northern Sweden – a transcontinental voyage, during which they face challenges just as difficult as those back in their homeland.

Filmmaker Egil Haskjold Larsen offers no voice-over or interviews, instead presenting Lean's journey in a series of candid vignettes as she must deal with food shortages, boredom and bureaucratic setbacks. Captivating and humanely told, 69 MINUTES OF 86 DAYS puts a face to one of the world's largest humanitarian problems while celebrating the survival of the human spirit.
