First-time director Perry Blackshear pushes the American indie drama into new territory with this paranoid thriller THEY LOOK LIKE PEOPLE.
When an estranged childhood friend shows up in Christian’s world, unusual things start happening.
With no job and no place to live, Wyatt inserts himself into Christian’s life by joining him on dates and sleeping on the bedroom floor of his New York apartment.
As Christian muddles through his daily life Wyatt receives mysterious phone calls from those who are trying to protect him from the evil shape-shifters inhabiting his world.
Are the shape-shifters that Wyatt sees real? Are they hallucinations? THEY LOOK LIKE PEOPLE blurs the line between reality and perception.
With a final scene just as ambitious as one would hope from a narrative of this calibre, the audience is left with many unanswered questions.
