Stumbling through high school, Oscar (Connor Jessup, BLACKBIRD, FALLING SKIES) battles his inner demons while finding comfort in his one true friend: a talking hamster - voiced by Isabella Rossellini (BLUE VELVET, ENEMY).

When Wilder (Aliocha Schneider, MAMAN EST CHEZ LE COIFFEUR), an exotic Quebecois rebel gets a job alongside Oscar at the town’s hardware store, his sexuality becomes even more difficult to deny.

Struggling to overcome memories that continue to haunt him, Oscar must suffer at the hands of an abusive father, forgive his absent mother, and learn to accept himself despite the tragic homophobic act that he witnessed during childhood.

With a familiar cast that also includes Mary Walsh (THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES), CLOSET MONSTER is the feature directorial debut by acclaimed short filmmaker Stephen Dunn.
