Producer Jennifer Jonas will be in attendance at the Saturday screening!
This stylistic reimagining of the biopic genre centers on the legendary jazz trumpeter and singer Chet Baker (Ethan Hawke, BEFORE MIDNIGHT, BOYHOOD).
Taking place in the 1960s during a downturn in his life, Baker fights for a chance at a comeback. His addiction to heroin, however, threatens to ruin everything. Baker’s partner (Carmen Ejogo, SELMA, ALEX CROSS) helps him through the dark times; he’s in and out of jail, gets himself kicked out of countries where he is scheduled to perform, and pawns his instruments for drug money. When he loses his front teeth and seriously damages his lips in a fight, he also loses his ability to play trumpet. It will take honesty, a sense of humour and love to save his career.
Hawke learned to play the trumpet for this film, and performs all the singing himself.
