Acclaimed Canadian Director Deepa Mehta’s (MIDNIGHT’S CHILDREN, HEAVEN ON EARTH, WATER) latest feature is an Indian gangster film with Vancouver Sikhs playing the starring roles.
Battling for their turf – along with the respect, power and money that come with it – gang leader Jeet Johar and his Beeba Boys roam the familiar streets of Vancouver.
Murdering enemies in one scene and playing loving sons and fathers in the next, the Beeba Boys aim to control the Vancouver drug and arms scene while still staying true to their Sikh roots.
Complications ensue for the Beeba Boys when it begins to look like one of the gang’s newest members might be working for the other side.
A cautionary tale of betrayal, extreme violence and plot twists, BEEBA BOYS is a unique take on an established genre.
Complete with a cameo by Canadian Director Paul Gross sporting a grey manbun, BEEBA BOYS is a conventional gangster film with a distinctly Indo-Canadian flare.
