A thoughtful and comedic documentary following a Canadian’s journey through the Santa Winter Games in Sweden.
In this uproarious documentary, Canada’s John Dunsworth (Trailer Park Boys, Forgive Me) makes a deeply involved journey into the world of Santa Claus. Dunsworth becomes immersed in the classic role and undergoes rigorous training in order to take part in the annual Santa Winter Games, a competition inspired by the mythology surrounding one of the world’s most beloved figures.
We follow him on his search for Santa actualization with stops in locations as diverse as Canada, Finland and Italy, taking away something different from each. Comedic and thoughtful in equal measure, this documentary takes the opportunity to explore and address deeper themes and concepts, inspired both by the Santa Claus tradition as well as Dunsworth’s own life and accomplishments.
