Designed to coincide with the anniversary of the venerable New York journal, The Fifty Year Argument, Academy Award® Martin Scorsese teams up with film editor-turned-director David Tedeschi to highlight the role the New York Review of Books has played in the cultural landscape of the United States.
Going far beyond a simple review of new and noteworthy books, the NYRB consistently provided a forum for intellectuals to wade publicly in the currents of social and political change.
As a delight to audiences, A Fifty Year Argument brings back many of the journal’s contributing authors, reading and reflecting back on their own articles and the discussions that followed.
