When a psychiatrist’s own despondency begins to affect his work, he sets out to tour the planet in search of the secret to finding happiness.
Leaving behind his girlfriend and his practice, Hector (Simon Pegg, The World’s End, Hot Fuzz) seeks the answer to one of life’s fundamental questions: What makes people happy?
Hector’s expedition takes him around the globe to study the world’s most fascinating cultures, but throughout his journey he encounters the real life consequences of putting everything on hold. For example, will his girlfriend Clara (Rosamund Pike, The World’s End, An Education) still be there when he gets back?
Hector and the Search for Happiness also features Toni Collette (Enough Said), Stellan Skarsgard (Good Will Hunting), and Christopher Plummer (Beginners).
