A tongue-in-cheek homage to the stylish Italian horror classics of Dario Argento and Mario Bava.
Italy in the 1970s: the perfect time to be working in the horror movie business, because the industry is thriving thanks to Dario Argento and Mario Bava. Editor Rey is so dedicated to his work that even after losing an arm to a freak editing accident, he cuts away at reel after reel of the grotesque, the glamorous, the best of what Italian cinema has to offer.
Speculation arises that Rey’s commitment may run too deep; gruesome accidents and mishaps mysteriously follow him wherever he goes and soon enough, so do the police. The Editor is the perfect cut of stylized horror and humour. Featuring veteran character actor Udo Kier and winks towards its influences, the film perfectly uses homage to adapt "giallo horror" for a 21st-century audience.
