A dark and moody thriller, The Storm Within takes place in British-occupied Quebec at the end of the 18th century.

It's New Year's Eve, and Espérance (Isabelle Guérard) is tending to her children while waiting for her husband to return home to their rural cabin. But when she opens her home to pounding on the door, she instead finds herself faced with five British soldiers seeking refuge from the incoming snowstorm. As the hour grows late and the storm worsens, the confines of the cabin become increasingly uncomfortable. When the men lash out in aggression, Espérance realizes she needs to defend her children and her home, through whatever means necessary.
