With no father in his life, young Raimonds (Kristofers Konovalovs) is forced to find his way in the world on his own. In Mother, I Love You, we follow the uneasy relationship between Raimonds and his single mother, who’s distracted by the nuts and bolts reality of providing for her family. Played impressively by first time actor Konovalovs, Raimonds veers into a life of petty crime and threatens to fall even further if his mother cannot find a way to reconnect with him and set him on a straight path.
Having won the jury prize for narrative film at the Los Angeles Film Festival, Latvia’s Mother, I Love You explores the timeless tale of love and misunderstanding between parent and child.
