Twenty eight-year-old Hitoshi (Kazuya Kamenashi) works a dead-end job at an electronics store. After the people surrounding him pressure him to move on with his life, he believes he’s discovered a window of opportunity in an abandoned cell phone in the store. He tries an “it's me” scam, calling the phone owner's mother and asking her to send money to his own bank account. The scam, however, produces a surprising result: he meets another version of himself.
Suddenly, Hitoshi finds himself split up into duplicates, finding community with those who truly understand him. But as more and more people turn into copies of Hitoshi, and at faster and faster rates, conflict breaks out between them. Some of the Hitoshis begin “deleting” one another. Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ, and for Hitoshi, inner conflict becomes an all-out war.
Based on a popular Japanese novel, but with a new twist ending, and starring J-pop boy-band singer Kazuya Kamenashi, It's Me, It's Me is a hilarious, surrealistic mind-bender about finding oneself.
