Artists don't get to choose their muse. Some are inspired by a lover, a landscape, or a city's skyline. While teaching in a remote Canadian community, Lars (Thure Lindhart), a once-promising Danish painter suffering through a long dry spell, finds his muse somewhere else altogether. It turns out his creative fires can only be stoked by Eddie, a hulking mute who kills and eats people in his sleep. A less than ideal situation, sure, but one that Lars finds himself increasingly tempted to embrace.
Lurking in the dark corners where creativity and cannibalism collide, this Danish-Canadian co-production is a giddy blend of pitch-black comedy and cringe-inducing gore. As the body count rises and the locals get suspicious, Lars faces a decision: will he put a stop to the violence, even if it costs him his masterpiece?
