The Dutch equivalent of Christmas is celebrated on December 5. Usually a merry event, legend says that when the full moon overlaps with the festivities (which take place on the anniversary of St. Nicholas’s death), Sinterklaas returns to the village that burned him to death to slaughter as many children as he can find.
Villager Goert may be the only person who believes this legend to be true, after he witnessed his entire family's demise in a Christmassacre 32 years earlier. The now-obsessed cop has plans of his own for Santa Claus's return. When sleigh bells chime from the rooftop and something starts shimmying down the chimney, he'll give himself the gift of revenge.
Gruesome, highly amusing and edge-of-your-seat intense, Dutch director Dick Maas’s SAINT takes the legend of Santa Claus to an entirely new level. No holly jolly Christmas, this satirical splatter film puts a zombie twist on a beloved holiday. If you were a fan of 2009's Nazi zombie flick DEAD SNOW, you won't want to miss SAINT.
