PG - Not Recommended for Young Children
At the root of this emotionally charged domestic drama is the story of a recently single mother of two young children, Teo and Valentin. Julieta is exhausted trying to balance the energy and attention required from her boys with the desperate need to get her work done. Trying to tune them out while they continue to play louder and rougher, she eventually sends them to bed to quiet things down. The kids don’t stop, and it isn’t long before Teo falls off the bed and injures himself. Without hesitation Julieta takes the two kids to the hospital, getting her ex-husband to meet them. As the hospital staff moves the family from room to room, they also begin to question her honesty and her care for Teo. Innocent to a fault, Julieta never suspects that the hospital staff may be having unsettling thoughts.
Largely unfolding in real time, this third film from award-winning Argentinean director Anahi Berneri (A YEAR WITHOUT LOVE) is a raw and honest portrayal of a young woman losing her grip on herself and her life.
